Construction Debris
Construction debris from new construction or a past remodeling job is commonly found inside air ducts.
Mold
Minor problems with ducts can create condensation. Insulation failure, a punctured duct wall, or a bad connection between components of the duct system can allow moisture to form. Moisture, combined with content in the dust, can result in mold growth.
Carcasses of Animals or Insects
Although not very common, it does happen. Animals like raccoons, rats, mice, and even snakes have been found inside air ducts.
